Fx 3.0a6 Released

The final Alpha build on the Gecko 1.9/Fx 3 branch has been released for testing purposes late yesterday. Some of the changes included with Firefox 3.0 Alpha 6 are:

  • Updated SQLite engine to version 3.3.17
  • Improved cookie performance
  • Support for site-specific preferences – text size
  • A new Quit dialog box that resolves termination errors
  • Added permanent ‘Restart Firefox’ button to Add-Ons Manager
  • Miscellaneous fixes to download manager including correctly displaying large file sizes
  • Various Places fixes
  • Miscellaneous Gecko 1.9 bug fixes

The next milestone is Beta 1 due out on or around July 31st.

  1. Now, it is possible to add a keyword to a search engine (SearchWord extension), I like very much this tool :-).
    It is possible that this function was added in a previous alpha, but I don’t remember, because I force SearchWord to install in all my Profiles.

    Unable to install extensions in Fx3.0a6 . Returning error “extensions can not be installed error writing in extensions folder”. Pl.help
