Tablet News Week of February 17th

Very slow Tablet News week, not really sure why…

  • Canonical Announces New Ubuntu Mobile OS for Tablets – UK based Canonical had already debuted their Ubuntu (Linux) Smart Phones at CES earlier this year. Now they are going to be providing Ubuntu for Tablets such as those by HTC. Unlike the Android and Windows tablets, the Ubuntu OS tablets allow for multiple password protected user accounts (share one tablet with multiple family members) and guest mode.
  • Google’s Nexus 7 Tablet Sold 4.6 Million Units During 2012 – While this is impressive, they were still beat out by the Apple iPad mini which was launched in November as well as the Kindle Fire.
