Latest Version of XBox may not need always on Internet Connection?

There has been on again, off again rumors that the next version of the XBox (XBox 720 or Durango) would need an always on Internet connection regardless of what the user is doing. Nokia Lumia 920 Commercial

The first Windows Phone commercial I have seen. Microsoft is holding nothing back with this Windows Phone commercial. They make fun of both Android (with the Samsung Galaxy phones) as well as Apple iPhone users. Not really sure if I want a Windows phone, last thing I want is a BSOD on my phone.
