Experimental Add-ons and Add-ons Manager Change

Searches in the Firefox in browser Add-ons Manager (Tools > Add-ons) will no longer return results for add-ons which are experimental or not “Fully Reviewed”. Fully reviewed add-ons meet all of our quality standards, while preliminarily [sic] reviewed add-ons only have to meet a lower standard, focused mostly on security and privacy. While Mozilla did make the reviews levels clear on the AMO site, the in browser add-ons manager did not show a distinction between Fully Reviewed and Experimental add-ons. As a result, users could unknowingly install an experimental add-ons when they believed they were installing a Fully Reviewed add-on….

Lenovo Selling More Mobile Devices than PCs

In their first quarter (ending June 30th, 2013) Lenovo sold more tablets and smartphones then they have PCs. However, while revenue from PCs was surpassed by their mobile devices, Lenovo is now the largest PC maker with a 16.7% market share. Lenovo’s biggest source of revenue has been from China. While only 42% of Lenovo’s overall sales are to China, the booming Chinese smartphone market accounts for a staggering 98% of Lenovo’s smartphone sales. Lenovo to add Start Menu to their Windows 8 PCs

So it looks like Lenovo is taking matters into their own hands with Windows 8 and the lack of a Start Menu. Reports are they have signed a dealer with Pokki developer SweetLabs to preload a software suite which adds a Start Menu to some of their Windows 8 PCs.
