Google Sued for $5 Billion

We’ve all seen our fair share of stupid law suits, but this one has to be the best. It seems Dylan Jayne who lives in Pennsylvania is suing Google because their name (along with the Philadelphia 76er’s) are similar to his Social Security Number. He claims that flipping his SSN number upside down, and scrambling it around you will see the similarity. Oh but wait it gets even better…Jayne has hand-written his civil complaint against Google. I am guessing he couldn’t find a lawyer willing to take his idiotic case much less against a major corporation such as Google. But…

Thunderbird’s Future Looking Brighter

In late July there was a lot of talk about Thunderbird’s Future as Mozilla was looking at options to split off or even possible drop Thunderbird. The future is looking a lot brighter now for Thunderbird. Mitchell Baker has announced… The result is that Mozilla is launching a new effort to improve email and internet communications. We will increase our investment and focus on our current email client — Thunderbird — and on innovations in the email and communications areas. We are doing so by creating a new organization with this as its sole focus and committing resources to this…

New Logo

It started simple enough…I was looking for a nice background texture for another website I was building. Went to my usual source, Absolute Background Textures Archive to see what I could fine. This site is actually part of a larger grouping of sites known as GRSites.com and has been providing free textured backgrounds since 1997. They offer a whole lot more than just free textured backgrounds. One of the several new services they now offer is a logo maker. In a matter of few minutes I had made a new logo for the Al Net Solutions storefront and main site….

Well this is rather disturbing…

It seems Microsoft (M$) pushed (as in not telling/notifying anyone) a ‘stealth’ update of the Windows Update. This happened back on August 23rd or in my case (any many others running XP) July 30th. Further even if you told M$ you didn’t want their stinkin’ updates, you got updated. To see if your Windows Updates files were secretly updated find your windows/system32 folder and look for these files and see if they were updated to version 7.0.6000.381 (right click on the file, select properties then click the versions tab): Vista: wuapi.dll wuapp.exe wuauclt.exe wuaueng.dll wucltux.dll wudriver.dll wups.dll wups2.dll wuwebv.dll XP:…
