The Major Update is Coming!

That’s right, for those of you (and there are many) that haven’t upgraded to Firefox 3 yet, because it is too much trouble will be offered an automatic upgrade as early as the evening of Monday, August 25th. According to the MozillaWiki: Releases, the Major Update for Firefox 2.0.0.16 to 3.0.1 is (at this time) scheduled to land around 7:00 PM PDT/10:00 PM EDT on Monday, August 25th. However, I have my doubts about this release date, only because it is very untypically of Mozilla to do a release on a Monday. Normally everything is prepped and loaded on to…

Tip: TBird Editing Tags (The Easy Way)

Turns out there is a much easier way to edit Thunderbird message tags. I was not even aware there was an option (albeit a little buried) until FreeJeff left this informative comment: You can configure tags to your heart’s content by simply going to Options > Display > Tags. Add, delete, edit title and/or color, whatever. About:config is completely unnecessary. Oh, so there is a ‘Tags’ option in the Display settings. Whoops, guess I should have looked thru the options menu first. Click for full-size Thanks for the info FreeJeff!

TBird Logos

I had mentioned in the TBird 3 (Shredder) Alpha 2 Released post, I was not too thrilled with the ‘new’ logo. As it turns out this is not a new logo after all. Kevin left the following comment: That’s actually a really old logo. They used it a long time ago and must be using it again for trunk development. Further after I posted about “The Logo” in the CyberNet Forum, I was directed to A History of Thunderbird (Wikipedia). Turns out this indeed the original logo: Click for full-size I am just trying to understand why they are using…
