For those needing more screen space, starting with the Beta 5 Release of Firefox 3.6, Windows users can now hide the Menu Bar. To hide the Menu Bar, right-click on an empty area in the toolbars and uncheck Menu Bar to hide. If you need to access the menu bar, simply press the ALT key and the menu bar will re-appear temporarily. Some users may have noticed that YouTube videos can be slightly ‘jumpy’ in Firefox. Cain’t say I have or have not noticed this issue, may be I just thought it was normal. Anyway this problem started with Firefox 2 which introduced the Session Restore feature. Many users, myself included, visit YouTube on an almost daily basis. Ever since Firefox version 2.0 implemented the session restore function, when you are watching a video on YouTube (perhaps on other video sites as well, I haven’t really tested that), you may notice a tiny freeze-up of the video every 10 seconds or so….

Firefox 3.5 is world’s most popular browser, StatCounter says Mozilla Firefox 3.5 has passed up Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 to become the world’s most popular Web browser, according to analysis firm StatCounter. Depending on your point of view, this could be huge news. Firefox finally edging out IE7 as the most-used browser? Holy cow. But remember, Microsoft is up to Internet Explorer 8, and StatCounter reported nearly as many IE8 users as Firefox 3.5 users. Source: The Microsoft Blog

Mozilla Released Beta 5 of Firefox 3.6 late Thursday afternoon. The Beta of Firefox 3.6 / Gecko 1.9.2 introduces several new features for users to evaluate: Support for the HTML5 File API A change to how third-party software integrates with Firefox to increase stability. The ability to run scripts asynchronously to speed up page load times. Users can now change their browser’s appearance with a single click, with built in support for Personas. Firefox 3.6 will alert users about out of date plugins to keep them safe. Open, native video can now be displayed full screen, and supports poster frames….
