Firefox 3.5.4 Released

Firefox 3.5.4 was released on October 27th. This release addresses Several security issues and fixed several stability issues. See complete Release Notes for full details. Auto-updates should be occurring in the next 24-48 hours, otherwise users may get the latest update by going to Help menu and selecting Check For Updates. Also, a reminder from Mozilla Developer Network, If you’re still using Firefox 2.0.0.x, this version is no longer supported and contains known security vulnerabilities. Please upgrade to Firefox 3.5 by downloading Firefox 3.5.4 from www.firefox.com.

Firefox 3.0.15 Released

Mozilla has released the 15th stability and security update for the Firefox 3 browser. For more information about What’s New in Firefox 3.0.15, check out the Firefox 3.0.15 Release Notes. Current Firefox 3 users may obtain Firefox 3.0.15 manually via the Check for Updates… option from the Help menu. Changes Coming to Our Main Site

You may have noticed a slight change recently on the main site (ffextensionguru.com) with the ‘recent news’ section. This use to be a static list of recent blog post that I would have to go in an update manually. I have since replaced this with a JavaScript application which automatically post from the feed. The application is from Feed2JS and it is free (you can also get and run your own instance of Feed2JS if you have your own server/hosting). First Microsoft Store Opens in Scottsdale

Just in time for the release of Windows 7 on Thursday, Microsoft opened their first retail store in Scottsdale in the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. Microsoft also plans on opening another store soon in Mission Viejo, California next Thursday (October 29th). The store’s design includes four “zones” to show off an array of Microsoft products, including Windows 7 on PCs and laptops, Windows Mobile on smartphones, the Zune HD and the Xbox 360. Mozilla Blocks Microsoft Plugin & Add-on

You would think Microsoft would have learned its lesson after all the negative backlash with the Microsoft .NET Spyware Extension. But this is Microsoft we are talking about. Earlier today I got an odd pop-up window from Firefox: The Windows Presentation Foundation plug-in has been disabled for your protection. Several people on Go Firefox! have reported getting the same message.
