For most of the week Arizona has been seeing a lot of rain and wind. Nothing too bad and the rain was much welcomed. I was recently asked how to remove the ‘New Tab Button’ that appears on the far right of the tab bar. Come to think of it, I never really even use that button, I always just do CTRL+T to open a new tab. A quick search on AMO turned up this handy add-on. Remove New Tab Button. It already works with Firefox 3.6 upto Firefox 3.7a1pre.
The Moving/Removing List All Tabs Button tweak has been updated for Firefox 3.0 and newer. This includes instructions on how to remove the List All Tabs button in Firefox 3.0, 3.5 and 3.6.
Firefox 3.6 is now available for download via the getfirefox.com site. Please note at this time if you want Firefox 3.6 you will need to manually download and install this version. A Major Update (Firefox 3.5.X to 3.6.X) likely won’t be coming out until sometime after the Firefox 3.5.8 release in mid-February. Mozilla Messaging has release the first update for Thunderbird 3.0. The new Thunderbird 3.0.1 update includes these changes: Several fixes to improve stability and security Several fixes to the user interface and attachment handling. Big news, Mozilla has confirmed Firefox 3.6 is coming January 21st. Mozilla has released the second (and final) Release Candidate for Firefox 3.6. The only update was on the Linux platform due to Bug 539553 [Core:JavaScript Engine]-Correctness regression on the r-tree benchmark [Lin]. For Windows and Mac this is just a repackage of the RC1 build with a new version number. Firefox 3.6 RC1 users should be able to obtain the update via Help >> Check For Updates, or it can be downloaded from Mozilla. As indicated earlier, if all goes well the final release of Firefox 3.6 should be on Tuesday, January 26th.
