$12 is worth it afterall

Okay, so I had a chance to do some more research. I looked at the pricing of getting a new hosting package with my current provider for 2-years and dropping out the reseller program. Since I am already paid into the program until April 2014 I would get a refund for the remaining 3-years which would mean I would come out ahead a couple dollars. Interestingly, though if I purchased hosting through my reseller site I could get 3-year for less than the 2-year of my current provider. I could still drop out of the program though and keep my…

New ElGuru.me site coming soon

A newly redesigned and simplified version of my ElGuru.me site should be up and running later this weekend. The new site is actually completed, but there are some things happening behind the scenes involving the platform/server changes preventing the new site from going live at this time. This is the first step in what is going to be a major transition later this year. Ultimately what I hope to have completed by year end is having all three blogs (Firefox Extension Guru, Email Mafia and El Guru’s Blog) all converted over to WordPress.org. However, the hosting I am on now…

New Mozilla CEO and Firefox Updates

The big news this week is after six months of searching, Gary Kovacs, former general manager and vice president of mobile and devices at Adobe, and employee of IBM for ten years, has been appointed as the next Mozilla Corp. But Gary’s a special person for the CEO role, and here’s why: He’s a veteran of the Web and rich media — he’s been at the center…

Hail Of A Storm

On Tuesday, October 5 the Phoenix area got hit with a monster of storm, which included hail. The title is bit of play-on-words and I got the idea for the title earlier today when I heard a radio commercial for Courtesy Chevrolet. They are currently having a ‘Hail of Sale’ with price reductions on all the vehicles damaged by this week’s hail storm. Hail storms are fairly rare out here. In the 17-years I’ve lived in Arizona I’ve experienced 3 hail storms. Hail on Balcony It seems as if this storm was worse than the ones we had in January….

Paste & Go coming to Firefox 4

Firefox 4 will now have a new feature available from the context menu called ‘Paste & Go’. This option is available when pasting into either the address bar or search box. As the name implies, once the content is pasted it automatically goes to the address or displays the results for the searched term. I can’t say I am all that excited about this feature. For one thing I rarely paste via the context menu. Most of the time I either paste via CTRL+V. In the cases of addresses, this is usually after I have opened a new tab. I…
