In true Microsoft fashion, this broke One Drive (“unexpectedly close”). On Friday, October 28, 2022 Microsoft has released an out-of-band update with the emergency KB5020953 cumulative update. Unlike regular updates, you won’t get to install this update via Windows Update. You can only install it manually after downloading it from the Microsoft Update Catalog. Apple Confirms Future iPhones will Comply with EU USB-C Mandate

Apple Exec have confirmed the future iPhones (likely the iPhone 15 due out in Fall 2023) will have USB-C charging port.  So far only the EU has mandated for new mobile devices with 1000 watts or less power consumption produced on/after December 2024 must have USB-C charging port.  Brazil and India are considering similar rules and in June 2022 several Democratic US Senators sent an open letter to Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo pushing the US to follow the EU’s steps. Chrome Ending Windows 7 & 8.1 Support Next Year

Well, we knew this was bound to happen: Google Inc. 298,30 -2,61 -0,87% has announced starting with Chrome version 110 (expected release early February 2023) the browser will no longer be supported on machines running Windows 7 or 8.1. Microsoft Fixes Printer Issues Blocking Windows 11 22H2 Update

Over the weekend Microsoft Corporation 410,68 +5,48 +1,35% has come up with a fix for user who have been unable to update to the Windows 11 2022 Feature Update (22H2) due to compatibility issues with printers using Universal Print Class or Microsoft IPP Class drivers. This fix however will not be pushed out as part of a Windows Update. Google Removes 16 Ad Fraud Apps

Google Inc. 298,30 -2,61 -0,87% has removed 16 apps from their Playstore that have been found to be performing ad (click) fraud. In addition they were casing users device battery’s to deplete and in some cases causing users to exceeded their data caps. Furthermore, these 16 apps had a combined install base of around 20 million. The apps provided legitimate functions, including flashlight, camera, QR reading, and measurement conversions, security firm McAfee said on Wednesday.
