No Firefox Planned for iPhone or iPad

Due to development restrictions placed by Apple for third-party browsers, Mozilla announced they have no plans at this time to release a version of Firefox which would support the Apple iPhone or iPad. In order to accommodate Apple’s restrictions, Mozilla would need to redesign the Firefox rendering engine to use WebKit (used by Google Chrome and Apple’s Safari) instead of the current Gecko. via Tom’s Hardware

Mozilla released an emergency update for Firefox on March 7th, 2013 with versions 17.0.4esr and 19.0.2 to desktop users. This release addresses issues in regards to security advisory MFSA 2013-29. “Forced” to use Internet Explorer

So, has anyone really felt they were “forced” to use Internet Explorer with Windows? It is not like Microsoft won’t allow you to download and install another browser (you do have to use IE to do that though). Further, how is bundling Internet Explorer with Windows anti-competitive? Microsoft Fine $730 Million By EU for “Browser Ballot” Mishap

Last year Microsoft discovered and acknowledged there was “mishap” with Windows 7 SP1 sold in the EU.
