For some odd reason AdBlock Plus in Thunderbird choose to use the keyboard CTRL+SHIFT+V to open the sidebar (blockable items). The problem with using this is CTRL+SHIFT+V is the universal keyboard shortcut to Paste as Plain Text of Paste without Formatting. Earlier in January, a Google Chrome update include a new feature called Noisy Tabs which will put an indicator (speaker icon) on a tab that is playing audio. Mozilla released an update for Thunderbird the 24.0.x branch on November 19th, 2013. Thunderbird 24.1.1 addressed an issue with Windows users receiving a UAC prompt when attempting to update Thunderbird using the Background Update service. See bug 926975 for more information.
