I am hearing, but can not see any information that there was an update pushed out for Mac users (likely a result of the crash issues upon startup with Firefox 9.0 release) earlier today. Though checking the Mozilla site and FTP site, the latest I am seeing for Mac (and for Windows and Linux) is 9.0.0 release from yesterday. Any Mac users on Firefox 9.0.0 (or even 8.0.1), could y’all go to Help > About Firefox and see if it offers you an update to 9.0.1 build. Thunderbird 3.1.17 has been released on December 20th, 2011. Current Thunderbird 3.1.16 users can update via Help > About Thunderbird. This release addressed stability and security issues, see the Security Advisory. The next scheduled released is Thunderbird 3.1.18 on January 31st, 2012.
Besides a re-spin on the Firefox 9 for Mac release there was one other issue oddity with the Firefox 9.0 update. I had updated a test profile (which is why the below screenshot looks so weird) from Firefox 8.0 to 9.0 via Help > About Firefox. Upon update the welcome page was telling me Firefox was out of date and linked to the Firefox download page which was still serving Firefox 8.0.1. An hour or so later when Firefox 9.0 was pushed out to the main Mozilla site, going back to that page displayed the message that Firefox was current.
Mozilla released Firefox 3.6.25 on December 20, 2011. This release fixed several security issues and stability issues. Users of older versions of Firefox should be prompted to update within the next 24-48 hours. User can also go to to Help > About Firefox to update. The next release will be Firefox 3.6.26 scheduled for January 31st, 2012.
Thunderbird 9 has been released on December 20th, 2011. Current Thunderbird 8.0.0 users can update via Help > About Thunderbird. Lightning users, after you have updated to Thunderbird 9.0, your calendars will be broken. To fix this go Tools > Add-ons and then in your add-ons list, at the top of the list click the gear button and select Check for Updates. A quick update on the Firefox 9.0 release. At this time Windows, Android and possibly Linux versions have been released. Currently there are issues with startup crashes for Mac users on Firefox 9.0 and this release has been pulled. Mac users also should not be getting update notifications at this time.
