Almost two-year ago (October 23, 2020) Apple released the iPhone 12. The first iPhone not come packaged standard with ear buds and a charging brick. Apple’s justification for excluding these was for environmental reasons. Without these accessories Apple could use a smaller packaging with less of a carbon footprint. Sounds logical, especially since they also wouldn’t be manufacturing as many of the charging bricks and ear buds as well. However, you could say this would be the same as selling Electric Vehicles (EV) and not including the charging cable in the MSRP. Seems silly right…oh wait Tesla already did that…

The machine I upgraded to Windows 10 on Saturday did not have Thunderbird installed. I did a clean install of Thunderbird 38.1.0 with a clean profile. Upon first run I noticed Lightening was already there along with some options at the bottom: First run of a fresh install of Thunderbird 39.1.0 I like the way Mozilla has this setup that you can either keep or disable Lightning. This is what they should have done with Pocket in Firefox.
The developer has attempted to make setting up your Google Calendars in Lightning easier with the 1.0.x versions of Provider for Google Calendar. Unfortunately, this change may not work with certain Google Calendars. The new setup process simply wants the email address associated with your Google Calendar (instead of using the Calendar or Private addresses). While this worked for my main calendar directly tied to a real Gmail address, it did not work for my school calendar. My school calendar is tied to the domain of my college district (maricopa.edu) which uses Google API for email, calendar and other Google services. The problem seems to be…
