At this point it is uncertain when Musk is going to re-release Twitter Blue which had been slated for this Friday. What is for certain is the price will go up by 1¢ to $8 USD and he does not like giving Apple a 30% cut. This is a continuation of Musk’s current quarrel with Apple Inc. 225,12 +0,89 +0,40%. which Musk had Tweeted about this on Monday claiming Apple ‘threatened to withhold Twitter‘ from the Apple app store (but they would not say why). Mush hasn’t provide much details about this nor about his below Tweet also from Monday….
Is this part of Musk’s “free speech” movement or simply a side-effect of gutting nearly 2/3 of Twitter’s workforce within his first month of taking ownership? Regardless, this is going to advance Twitter’s doomsday clock by another couple minutes. Twitter’s long-running effort to fight COVID-19 misinformation is at an end, at least for now. As Twitter users and CNN noticed, the social media firm has quietly updated its transparency site to reveal that it stopped enforcing its COVID misinformation policy on November 23rd. It’s not clear if the company will restore any accounts banned for sharing misinformation as part of Elon Musk’s planned amnesty, but this indicates…
On November 29, 1972 Atari released the (table tennis) video game Pong. Exactly 50 years ago today, Atari released Pong. It wasn’t the first video game ever created, nor the original take on virtual table tennis – a fact that would eventually lead to two decades of lawsuits. But in Pong, the early video game industry was born. Released in 1972, Atari sold more than 8,000 Pong arcade cabinets. A few years later, the home version of Pong would become an instant success, with Sears selling about 150,000 units of the console you needed to play the game. Those are modest sales numbers by 2022 standards, but the success…
Epson has long been associated with printers, though when I think Laser Printers; HP, Brothers and Lexmark come to mind not Epson. Growing up we had an Epson printer in the house. Except they were not laser or even inkjet, rather Dot Matrix (or impact) printer the MX-80. Later on we ended up getting an Oki Data printer. My father did eventually get a laser printer. This was in later 80’s and I remember you could always tell when he was printing as the all lights in our 1960’s California house would start flickering. I am surprised running the printer…
