There are a couple issues related to Firefox 3.6 & 5.0 and Mac OSX 10.7 as described on the Mozilla Product’s Blog: There is a bug present in the upcoming release of OSX 10.7 that causes Firefox to crash when using downloadable fonts. Downloadable fonts are used widely on the web, so users would have suffered severe crash problems. We alerted Apple to the problem before the release of 10.7 but they did not fix the problem before 10.7 went to final release. We’ve changed the font APIs that we’re using to newer versions which appear to fix the problem. …

Unsorted Bookmarks are those which were created by clicking the bookmark star. This item can not be removed (even when empty) from the Bookmarks Menu via the delete option in the context menu.To remove the Unsorted Bookmarks item from the Bookmarks Menu you will need modify your userChrome.css. Add these lines to your userChrome.css file located in your profile folder: /* Hide “Unsorted Bookmarks” in bookmarks toolbar menu */ #BMB_unsortedBookmarks { display: none !important } Note: This does not remove the item from the Library (Organize Bookmarks…/Show All Bookmarks…) window. The merges for Firefox 6 onto the Beta Channel, Firefox 7 onto the Aurora Channel as well as Firefox 8 onto the nightly channel has been completed. You can move to the next version within your channel (Firefox 6 Aurora to Firefox 7 Aurora) by going to Help > About Firefox (or Aurora or Nightly). Firefox 8 is now available on the nightly channel. If you are already running Nightly (Firefox 7.0a1), you may be able to update by going to Help > About Nightly. Otherwise you may be directed to the Nightly Download Page on Mozilla Central. Note: At this time, the merge for Aurora from Firefox 6 to Firefox 7 as well as Beta from Firefox 5 to Firefox 6 have not yet been completed. We will post when these merges have been completed.

There is talk of ending Windows 2000 support starting with Thunderbird 8. This is in part due to move to MSVC (Microsoft Visual C++) 2010 based compiler which requires Windows XP SP2 or newer OS. Thunderbird 8 is now on the Daily Branch is scheduled for release on November 8, 2011.
