It wasn’t all that long ago I moved the blog off the Quick Blogcast on to WordPress.com. It was just a little over 3-months ago I made that move. Today I moved the blog on to WordPress.org. I decided I would give WordPress.org a try to see how easy it is to work with and what options are available here that are not with the WordPress.com. I do not have any plans on moving the other two blogs (Email Mafia and FF Extension Guru) any time soon. So far the only issue I ran into was with the YouTube videos….
Over the past couple years I have had several online photo albums, some free and some paid. I have now consolidated all them into a new online photo album at gallery.elguru.me using the application is Zen Photo. The application is free, but does require a web server/hosting account which supports PHP and MySQL. The initial installation was a bit of challenge even with my knowledge of setting up applications it did take a little work getting my all PHP settings adjusted. I was also a little taken aback that I had to manually update the configuration file with my database…

Pay close attention to the weather report on the radio at the beginning of this Circle K commercial. Describes our current weather perfectly.
Update: Thanks to Ken Saunders for the suggestion to use 7-Zip instead of WinRAR. Using 7-Zip greatly simplifies this process. I downloaded and installed Firefox 3.7a6pe today (more on this in another post). Everything was going fairly well until I started to move my extensions over from Firefox 3.6 profile. I was going to start with Nightly Tester Tools, but found out it is only compatible up to Firefox 3.7a5. Simple enough, I’ll just apply the Overriding Add-ons Compatibility Check Tweak I wrote earlier this year. That doesn’t seem to work with Firefox 3.7 or it may be related to…

Mozilla has released the fourth (there was no Firefox 3.6.1 or 3.6.5) update for Firefox 3.6.6 on June 26. This update addressed issues with new plugin handler causing issues with the immensely popular Facebook game Farmville. See bug 574905 for full details. Firefox 3.6.6 modifies the crash protection feature to increase the amount of time that plugins are allowed to be non-responsive before being terminated. Users should be prompted soon to update, but can obtain this update via Help the Menu and selecting Check For Updates…For complete list of changes and more information, please see the Firefox 3.6.6 Release Notes….
Had a chance today to download, install and even crash (sort of) Firefox 3.7a6pre aka Minefield. When the final release comes out some time around year end it will be numbered as Firefox 4. The biggest change in Firefox 3.7/4.0 is the user interface (UI). The new UI reminds me a lot of Chrome and takes a little getting use to. Click for full size image This is the ‘default’ UI when you first load up Minefield. Here a few of the notable changes: The ‘Minefield’ Button – In the released version of Firefox 4 this will be labeled as…
