Steve Balmer who has been Microsoft’s CEO since 2000 has announced he is retiring within the year. In an email to Microsoft employees he indicated his retirement was “in Microsoft’s best interests”. No word yet on a possible successor though Microsoft’s board has put together a special committee to find a new CEO. via Tom’s Hardware

Mozilla has released the next updates for Mozilla Thunderbird with versions 17.0.7 and 17.0.7esr (Thunderbird for Organizations) on June 25th, 2013. Fixes in this version include Various security fixes. Depending on the operating system and update settings (Tools > Options… > Advanced > Update Tab), users will be prompted to update within in the next 48-hours.
