Lightning Updates 1.0b5 RC Builds

There has been two updates to Lightning today, 1.0b5rc2 & 1.0b5rc3. These releases candidates addressed: Alarm window disappearing Misplaced beeps from the alarm system. Some calendars are no longer working (specifically, webcal:// calendars). Support for Thunderbird 5.0 and 6.0 The final release of 1.0b5 is expected in the next couple days and will have 10 bugfixes. Mozilla to Develop Mobile OS

Mozilla has announced plans for its own Mobile OS, Boot to Gecko or B2G for short. Firefox 6.0 Beta 3 Released

Mozilla has pushed out Beta 3 for Firefox 6 on the Beta channel. If you are already using Firefox 6 Beta 1 or 2 go to Help > About Firefox to update to Beta 3. Otherwise you may obtain Firefox 6.0b2 from the Future of Firefox page. Firefox 6.0 is scheduled for final release on August 16th, 2011.

Remove Transparent Aero Theme Effect

Thunderbird 5, like Firefox 4 takes advantage of Windows Aero Glass effect on Vista and Windows 7. This results in a transparent menu bar, which some users find this transparency annoying. There are a couple ways to get around this. Clarification: Firefox 3.6.19/5.0.1

Mozilla did an emergency update for Firefox 3.6 & 5.0 on July 11th. There was an automatic update for Mac user only. While Mozilla did also publish Firefox 3.6.19 and 5.0.1 to the FTP site as well as at getfirefox.com for Windows and Mac users, there is no difference between Firefox 3.6.18/3.6.19 or 5.0/5.0.1 for Linux and Windows users. Therefore, an automatic update was not pushed out for Windows and Linux users. If for whatever reason you would like to update to Firefox 3.6.19 or 5.0.1 and are using Windows or Linux, you will need to so manually via getfirefox.com…
