I have updated the Windows Vista Update entry from a couple days ago. Apparently I had Published the article instead of Saving, which would explain why I wasn’t finding it in my drafts.

The ‘Upcoming’ page has been updated (got a little behind on that one) and renamed to ‘Releases’. Also there is now a ‘Releases’ category which will make it easier to find the posts related to new version releases.
It started simple enough…I was looking for a nice background texture for another website I was building. Went to my usual source, Absolute Background Textures Archive to see what I could fine. This site is actually part of a larger grouping of sites known as GRSites.com and has been providing free textured backgrounds since 1997. They offer a whole lot more than just free textured backgrounds. One of the several new services they now offer is a logo maker. In a matter of few minutes I had made a new logo for the Al Net Solutions storefront and main site….
As of September 1st the new address for The Firefox Extension Guru’s Blog is going to be http://blog.ffextensionguru.com! The old address http://ffextensiongurublog.info will continue to work through early February 2008. We also plan on keeping the ffextensionguru.info address as our discussion forum is hosted on that domain. ffextensionguru.com is just forwarding to the current ffextensionguru.info site. Also coming up this week on September 6th is the one year anniversary of moving the blog over to WordPress from Blogger.
For some odd reason the last three blog entries (School Time Jet Bus, Review: FoxSaver and Fx 2.0.0.6 Ubuntu & Epiphany) were being posted as Private. This means I was able to see them but no one else was. I noticed something was wrong when the blog feed was not updating on Flock and on my FeedBurner Headline Animator. Upon further inspection in WordPress on Firefox I noticed the titles were starting out as ‘Private:’. This has been corrected and the missing posts should be appearing shortly, although it may take some time for the feeds to update.
It has been nearly 9 months since I originally posted the Firefox 2.0: Close Tab Buttons tweak and still it is the top viewed and commented post. Making this adjustment is the first thing I do when I setup a new profile as having the button on every tab is just too much. I have setup a poll and discussion on the The Firefox Extension Guru’s Forum about this very topic. Come join in.
This is one of those ‘I wonder how long it was broken?’ kinda things. It seems my custom Subscribe Now! widget was broken. Now when you click on the RSS logo in the sidebar (under the Subscribe Now header) depending on how your browser handles feeds it will either: A new tab/window will open to FeedBurner where you can subscribe to the feed with a web based news reader. OR In the case of Firefox 2.0, you will given the option to add a Live Bookmark. To add our feed to Firefox’s Bookmark Toolbar simply click the RSS icon in…
Just did minor tweaks with a couple of the categories/tags. Both the Add-ons and Tips & Tweaks categories/tags use to be child level under Mozilla Firefox. Since these two categories/tags are not just limited to Firefox I have made them their own primary categories/tags. The articles which were marked with these categories/tags remains unchanged.
I am please to announce the grand opening of a brand new web site for the Firefox Extension Guru as well as a Discussion Forum. The website is still under construction but is for the most part complete. The extension section will likely not be completed until later this month as I really only have time to work on it during the weekends. The discussion forum is SMF (Simple Machines Forums) based. This is the same design and engine that is used by the CyberNet Forum as well as our sister blog (Grey’s Anatomy Addicts~Plus) Forum. While you will be…
I decided to make the Fx 2.0 Tweaks more easily accessible so I have created a Tweaks page. By creating it as a page, it will be right on the blog header now. No more having to search or going to the popular posts page to find the Tweaks. In order to make room for this new page on the header I combined the About Firefox and About the Guru pages into one About Fx & The Guru.
