Mozilla has released the sixth beta for Firefox 4.0 on September 14th. This is a Fire Drill (unplanned) release and is being made available for testing purposes only. New stuff in this release: Stability issue on Windows Rendering and keyboard/mouse focus issues on OSX related to plugins For more info see the release notes for Firefox 4 Beta 6. All other items planned for the Beta 6 release have been rolled over to the upcoming Beta 7 release due in the later half of September.

Okay so I suspected there was likely going to be a Beta 6 as the RC release was not due out until sometime in late October. This has been confirmed late last night by Mozilla Developers Center. I can not completely say this new ‘feature’ was taken from Chrome. Presently Firefox has separate stop, reload and go buttons. There are many add-ons out there such as Stop-or-Reload Button which combine the stop and reload buttons in to one button. In the upcoming Firefox 4 this is taken a step further. September 7th was a major release day for Mozilla. We saw new versions of Thunderbird 3.0 and 3.1 as well as newly released updates on all 3 active versions of Firefox (3.5, 3.6 and the developmental 4.0). Firefox 3.5.12 was released on September 7th. See complete Release Notes for full details. Auto-updates should be occurring in the next 24-48 hours, otherwise users may get the latest update by going to Help menu and selecting Check For Updates. If you’re still using Firefox 3.0.x, this version is no longer supported and may contain security vulnerabilities.
