For quite some time I had been using Flock as my news reader. I liked the interface of having all my feeds listed in a sidebar. However over the past couple weeks I noticed something odd the blogs I normally visit we’re not showing any new entries. Didn’t think much of it until the other day when I saw the Thunderbird Organization Established — MailCo article on CyberNet News. I noticed on of the references listed was Mozilla Links, which according to Flock had no new articles. I had already had problems with another feed refusing to load in Flock…
Foxit Reader is great alternative to Adobe Acrobat for viewing PDF files. But what if you want to create a PDF file? Sure you could pay for a program that will take your files and convert them to PDF. Or you could use MS Office saves as PDF option. Even OpenOffice has an Export as PDF option but that does the whole document as a PDF file. I ran into this problem with an OpenOffice spreadsheet I had. I wanted each sheet or page to be its own PDF document. After a quick search on the CyberNet Forum, I found…
We’ve all seen our fair share of stupid law suits, but this one has to be the best. It seems Dylan Jayne who lives in Pennsylvania is suing Google because their name (along with the Philadelphia 76er’s) are similar to his Social Security Number. He claims that flipping his SSN number upside down, and scrambling it around you will see the similarity. Oh but wait it gets even better…Jayne has hand-written his civil complaint against Google. I am guessing he couldn’t find a lawyer willing to take his idiotic case much less against a major corporation such as Google. But…

In late July there was a lot of talk about Thunderbird’s Future as Mozilla was looking at options to split off or even possible drop Thunderbird. The future is looking a lot brighter now for Thunderbird. Mitchell Baker has announced… The result is that Mozilla is launching a new effort to improve email and internet communications. We will increase our investment and focus on our current email client — Thunderbird — and on innovations in the email and communications areas. We are doing so by creating a new organization with this as its sole focus and committing resources to this…
Fx 2.0.0.7 is a Fire Drill (Security) release to address the QuickTime Vulnerability. Currently it has not been pushed out to the ‘GetFirefox‘ page or into the auto updates yet. The GetFirefox page update should be happening later today and the auto-updates are usually within the the next couple days (or some times even the same day). Meanwhile below are links the en-US version of Firefox 2.0.0.7 via Mozilla Download which connects to various download mirrors. Please note: on the download page for the Win32 build, the picture in step 1 shows Firefox Setup 2.0.0.6.exe, but the download is for…
