Due to some still ongoing POP and database issues (Bug 748090, Bug 748865, Bug 748726, Bug 748997 and bug 748432) that did not get fixed in Thunderbird 12, Mozilla will be pushing out an update for Thunderbird 12 early next week.

Mozilla Messaging competed the merge for Thunderbird 13 Beta on April 26th and Thunderbird 14 Earlybird on April 27th. Existing Earlybird and Beta users can update (within the same build) to the newest version by going to Help > About Thunderbird (or Earlybird). Users wanting to move from the Earlybird to Beta, Beta to Earlybird or do not currently have a version of Thunderbird Earlybird or Beta installed will need to manually update via The Future of Thunderbird site. Mozilla has completed the merge on Firefox 13 on to the Beta channel on April 26th. Mozilla Messaging has released the next version of Thunderbird on April 24th, 2012. For information about what’s new and fixes in Thunderbird 12, see the release notes. Users can update via Help > About Thunderbird, or download and update manually via getthunderbird.com site. The next scheduled release is Thunderbird 13 on June 5th which may be the last version to support Windows 2000 and XP SP1 or older. Important: Thunderbird 3.1.x is no longer supported.
