I don’t use the toolbar but I do use this and it may  come in handy for those who do.
I didn’t realize how many services Google had.
 Display all Google services as buttons or as a space-saving dropdown menu next to your address bar or anywhere you like it. Reach services like Gmail, Google reader, Google maps, Google calendar, and many more in a single click from your browser.

    The addon you link has been around since 2006. Not sure how this is a reaction to Google stopping support as your headline suggests. The developer predicted 5 years ago that google would stop support?? Unlikely! Way to twist something into FUD.

    I stopped using google toolbar a few years back, but missed a couple of useful features. Fortunately I found add-ons to replace them:
