No Auto-Update to Thunderbird 17.0.2esr

Due to Mozilla skipping the 17.0.1esr branch for Thunderbird, automatic updates to this version will not work at this time. Users have two options, download and manually install Thunderbird 17.0.2esr over 17.0.0esr or wait until February 19th when Thunderbird 17.0.3esr will be released with a patch to address this update issue. Note: This does not affect the regular (non-organization) version of Thunderbird. User can auto-update from Thunderbird 17.0.0 to 17.0.2 via Help > About Thunderbird and clicking the Check for updates button.

Fix ‘Close Other Tabs’ Warning ‘Fix’

Note: Yes, the post title is suppose to be that way. This is a ‘fix’ to fix the ‘fix’ in Firefox 18 which wasn’t fixed. Back in September we first talked about Close Other Tabs Warning being displayed even if the user had ‘turned off’ the warning in the options. In late October we posted an update that a ‘fix’ was suppose to land with Firefox 18. I had pretty much forgotten about this issue as I don’t use the ‘Close other tabs’ option in Firefox. The 1 TB model will support USB 3.0 with read/write speeds upto (provided your system has USB 3.0 ports) 240MB/s and 160MB/s….

WP SuperCache Plugin Danger!

Up until recently I’ve been using the WP SuperCache plugin to help speed up my WordPress sites. I was working on one of the sites the other night and had Weaver II run a diagnostics to see if there were any problems with the theme. It came back with a warning that I was using the WP SuperCache plugin and that this would prevent the automatic mobile device version of the theme from working. They did suggest a couple other caching plugins that would work without issues. The first one I tried was very complicated to setup and it actually slowed…

New in 2013

It has been a while since I’ve done much with this blog. That is going to change this year, call it a ‘New Year’s Resolution’ if you will. Most of what I plan on doing with this blog is going to be more Computer/Internet related. To be more specific: WordPress. Been doing a lot of work with WordPress for the past few days. I currently have around 10 WordPress sites four of which are actually blog, the others are ‘websites’. The Weaver II theme is one the best themes out there on WordPress. I’ll be doing a more in-depth review later on of this theme. There are…
