Microsoft Fixes Printer Issues Blocking Windows 11 22H2 Update

Over the weekend Microsoft Corporation 426,89 +1,69 +0,40% has come up with a fix for user who have been unable to update to the Windows 11 2022 Feature Update (22H2) due to compatibility issues with printers using Universal Print Class or Microsoft IPP Class drivers. This fix however will not be pushed out as part of a Windows Update. Rather, users will be able to use a troubleshooter to resolve the printer drive issues and eventually be offered the update for Windows 11 22H2. Users who want to receive the troubleshooter sooner, should restart their computer then Check for Updates.

“Once the issue with the installed printer is resolved, the safeguard should be removed and you should be able to upgrade to Windows 11, version 22H2,” the company said in an update published on the Windows health dashboard.

“Please note, if there are no other safeguards that affect your device, it can take up to 48 hours before the upgrade to Windows 11 is offered.”

At this time there is still not yet for the BSOD issues with computers running Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST) audio drivers. Also, still no fix for users who use the Windows Hello enhanced security feature. Those computes will still be blocked from being offered the Windows 11 22H2 update.
