With yesterday’s announcement on the Firefox 3.5 RC2 release, I was thinking I must have missed the announcement for RC1. So I checked back over there and discovered there was indeed an announcement, but this was not a ‘public’ release. Our 800,000+ Firefox 3.5 beta users will be receiving an update to the first Firefox 3.5 release candidate (3.5rc1build2) in order to continue to help…

In a move that has been described as “a step backward in the retail software arena” Microsoft release a statement saying they will NOT bundle Internet Explorer (or any other browsers) with Windows 7 when it it is release in the European Market. Since the computer will not have a web browser installed, users will be unable to go on to the Internet to download a web browser. Microsoft’s “solution” to this is to offer Internet Explorer at no charge on a CD-ROM. Full details are on the Microsoft Blog plus response from the European Union (EU). Yep, this is…

As if the Gates-Seinfeld ads (Shoe Store & New Family) weren’t odd, dumb, idiotic, etc, Microsoft has released two Internet Explorer 8 commercials. F.O.M.S. (Fear of Missing Something) and S.H.Y.N.E.S.S. (Sharing Heavily Yet Not Enough Sharing Still). Thankfully these are not as long as the Gates-Seinfeld ads, but they aren’t much better. It seems Microsoft is trying to target the social ‘market’ of the Internet with these two commercials: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyQolo0Xdqw&feature=player_embedded] [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjUzzxAKs20&feature=player_embedded] If there is one comment from The Microsoft Blog that really sums up this latest campaign it would have to be this one from Frustrated: It is amazing they…
