I mentioned earlier today in my personal blog, that I discovered Microsoft has released and upgrade to Internet Explorer 8. However this upgrade is in the form of a Windows Update. Now before I start getting an Inbox full of hate mail, I want to make it clear I don’t have a problem with an upgrade to Internet Explorer 8. What I have the problem with is the way Microsoft is delivering this upgrade. I know that many people never look at their Windows Updates or they just allow the updates to be automatically installed. I get customers calling in…

No Mozilla Weekly Project Status Meeting on April 27th due to site-wide Mozilla Meeting. Next scheduled status meeting will be May 4th, 2009
Note: This is the last entry of photos from around Tempe. Here are some ‘extra’ photos that I took on April 24th.
Note: This is part 2 of several entries with photos from around Tempe. When I went to ASU Tempe Campus from 1997 to 1999 the majority of the large buildings were either on the ASU Campus (Manzantia Hall, the Physical Science Building) or own leased by ASU (University Towers on Fifth and College). During this time the largest commercial building in the area was the Chase Bank building on Mill Ave and University. The largest residential NOT part of ASU was Hayden’s Landing along Ash between Third and Fourth Streets.
When I was working on this week’s release recap I had already noticed Firefox 3.5 was delayed. But then I saw Firefox 3.0.10 was scheduled for release the week of April 27th! Wait…what? Last I had checked 3.0.10 was scheduled for mid-May. I looked back at the Mozilla Project Weekly Status: 2009-04-20 notes and did see that they had said “Aiming for mid-late May release”. So far I have not seen (or for that matter found via searching the Firefox Support board on mozillaZine) what has triggered this Firedrill Release for next week. The original planned 3.0.10 fixes, updates, etc….
Note: This is the first of several entries with photos from around Tempe. There has been lots of news how the economic downturn has wiped out a good chunk of the construction jobs in Arizona. Especially, when it comes to housing. However it seems the northern portion of Tempe, specifically along the new lightrail line, ASU/Downtown and the Tempe Town Lake has been immune to this downturn. If anything this area is booming. There are two huge projects near McClintock and Apache Blvd (Main Street in Mesa). These projects are right along the lightrail line and about a mile east…
In the Mozilla Project Weekly Status: 2009-04-20 post this Monday it was projected that Beta 4 release “…still aimed at late this week”. As of the end of business Friday, there was no Firefox 3.5 Beta 4 release. I took a look over at the Firefox Builds board on mozillaZine and saw the post: Firefox 3.5 beta 4 test day dated Friday, April 24th. At first there was a delay in the testing candidate, but it was eventually released. The good news is, it looks like Mozilla is getting ready to release Beta 4 very soon. The bad news though…
