Up until recently I’ve been using the WP SuperCache plugin to help speed up my WordPress sites. I was working on one of the sites the other night and had Weaver II run a diagnostics to see if there were any problems with the theme. It came back with a warning that I was using the WP SuperCache plugin and that this would prevent the automatic mobile device version of the theme from working. They did suggest a couple other caching plugins that would work without issues. The first one I tried was very complicated to setup and it actually slowed…
It has been a while since I’ve done much with this blog. That is going to change this year, call it a ‘New Year’s Resolution’ if you will. Most of what I plan on doing with this blog is going to be more Computer/Internet related. To be more specific: WordPress. Been doing a lot of work with WordPress for the past few days. I currently have around 10 WordPress sites four of which are actually blog, the others are ‘websites’. The Weaver II theme is one the best themes out there on WordPress. I’ll be doing a more in-depth review later on of this theme. There are…
Although I do not use Trend Micro my Cisco router blacklist evidently does as I was one of notifiers.Since I refer/link to his site all the time I thought I should put this up. “I received a couple of emails in the past five days that informed me that this site’s newsletter and later on the site were blocked by Trend Micro. The message that site visitors received was troubling. Trend Micro claimed that every page of the site was a “dangerous page” and that the company has confirmed that the website can “transmit malicious software or has been involved…
Due to the changes in the development plans for Thunderbird announced last year, Mozilla has changed the numbering scheme of future Thunderbird releases. Most of us were expecting to see Thunderbird 18 (built off of Gecko 18) released on January 8th, but instead were updated to 17.0.2 version. Future Thunderbird releases for the most part are going to be maintenance updates and not actually being built off a new version of Gecko has been the case since the introduction of RapidRelease back in May 2011. The numbering is now going to follow that of The Thunderbird ESR (extended support release) aka Thunderbird for Organizations which…

As part of our New Years updating we have decided to remove the Wiki. The biggest reasons were that it duplicated content already on the blog and it was getting too time consuming to maintain/update the wiki application. We have introduced a new How-To section to the blog. This section lists all the posts with the category of Tips & Tweaks > How-To and will always be up-to-date. Also on this page is information about editing the userChrome/userContent files, using the built-in preferences manager (aka about:config) as well as locating your profile folder. Finally, we cleaned up the Releases page,…
