Earlier this week I noticed I wasn’t getting feed updates for the blog through Brief. When I checked the feed in Firefox’s Live Bookmark system I was getting Live bookmark feed failed to load. I thought it was just a glitch on Firefox part as Yahoo! RSS was working okay. Then I noticed my headline animator for this blog was coming up as “Watch this space for future items”. Okay, the feed is defiantly broken, but why. Finally had sometime to dig into this problem and went into the Troubleshootize section of FeedBurner. After running a feed validatior I discovered…
Blog News
While I have always covered Thunderbird in the Firefox Extension Guru’s Blog, the Thunderbird content tends to get deeply buried beneath all the Firefox and general Mozilla posts. Just searching by the Thunderbird category brings up 233 entries, however only 74 of those posts pertained exclusively to Thunderbird. All the Mozilla Project Weekly Status and Release Recap posts are under the Thunderbird category as well. So I have created the sister blog The Guru’s Thunderbird Blog. This blog contains the above mentioned 74 post ranging from June 1, 2006 up until March 1, 2009 have been re-posted on to this…
I’ve done a quick update on the How To Remove Microsoft .NET Spyware Extension post with the addition of links to information concerning the Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant 1.0 add-on as well as about the KB951847 update.
Beginning in February, the tweaks section is going to be updated for compatibility with Firefox 3.1. Also appears the release date for Beta 3 has been pushed back a week now to February 2nd.
Due to the holidays there won’t be many blog posts for the remainder of this year. However, I am please to announce the BYIR: July, August & September 2008 post will be published on Christmas morning! This is about 3-days ahead of the originally scheduled date. There will not be any more Release Recap posts until January 10th as there are no planned releases for the remainder of this year. There will likely be a Mozilla Project Weekly Status post for the December 29th meeting. As of today, the BYIR: October, November & December 2008 post is schedule to be…
2008 Blog Year in Review (BYIR) January, February and March April, May and June July, August and September October, November and December
First off, a Happy Thanksgiving from The Guru. This long weekend also marks the start of The Blog Year in Review 2008. Going to do this a little different this year as for formatting. Instead of doing 1-month per post as in the past, I am going to try and do 3-months per post. Here is a tentative release schedule (much like that of Firefox 2, 3 and 3.1 or that of any Mozilla project it is subject to change)… January, February and March – November 30th April, May and June – December 13th July, August and September – December…
We will be performing some maintenance on the ffextensionguru.com site over the next few hours as we move to a new server. The site should be fully up and running again by Wednesday afternoon. Note: this down time will not affect the blog.
It has only been a few days since I announced Tweaks Section Redesign Coming Soon (on ffextensionguru.com). I am please to announce the new Tweaks section is now live. I also have created a direct link (http://tweaks.ffextensionguru.com) to the Tweaks section. The redesign went a lot better than making the transition to Firefox 3.0b5 as my default browser (more on that later).
Been so busy getting ready to switch over to Firefox 3 and following the Microsoft/Yahoo saga, I completely missed the Blog’s 2nd Anniversary back on May 1st.
