From the Microsoft’s Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC) in Los Angeles, Todd Bishop snaps a picture of the “light bub” PC which took second place at this Microsoft-sponsored PC design competition. Interesting concept, the device is suppose to sit on your desk in the cut-out normally used thread cables through from the floor. It would sit upright with the ports pointing upwards. In theory you are suppose to be able to connect your mouse, keyboard, monitor and other peripherals into this device. This looks more like a hub then an actual “PC”. Also looks like it would connect to your…

Fx/TB 1.5.0.12/2.0.04 – Fx & TB 1.5.0.12 updates are almost completed and testing should begin soon. More problems for Fx 2.0.0.4 require another re-spin to RC3. “Final release date might be pushed by a few days”. If that happens it could mean the release could be pushed back to May 25th or 30th (28th is Memorial Day). The final release for the Fx 1.5.0.X builds ideally were suppose to be out by April 24th (six months from when Fx 2.0 was released). TB3– volunteers wanted to help with the 2007 Mailnews Code Roundup in preparation for moving mailnews to use…
I was able to get the new drives installed with some difficulties, but they are installed and working. I was able to download the nearly 700 MB ISO file for Ubuntu and burn it to CD (after two attempts). I could even boot off of this CD (after some tweaking in the BIOS), but after that I run into problems. If I select the option to Run/Install Ubuntu or Check CD for Errors, it will start up by initializing a couple files. After that however I end up with a black screen with a dead cursor (flashes but doesn’t respond…
The other night when I did the entry, New Tag: Ubuntu I had planned on adding more details but never got around to this. Today, MagnoliaSouth posted this comment on this entry: If you do begin trying Ubuntu, are you planning on writing details about your experience with it? I’d be very interested to follow a series such as that. I am so not a programmer and don’t know much about that kind of stuff, but if Ubuntu works well and is compatible with the software/hardware I use, I might consider a switch. First off, yes I do plan on…

I have added a tag for Ubuntu. Now I need to go through my old posts (I think there is only one) which I have mentioned Ubuntu and re-tag them.
Over the weekend while I was at my local Wal Mart (aka Evil Empire) store I stopped in the electronics department and noticed they had some 80 GB internal hard drives on clearance. I decided since they still had a few left and this is not something that is going to go flying off the shelf, I would wait until this weekend. Last night I found an even better deal. I was asking some Questions about installing Ubuntu on the CyberNet Forum. Later that evening I got a message from one my friends over there offering to send to me…
Here is what happening since last week: Fx 1.5.0.12 & 2.0.0.4 – A bug in Windows NT 4.0 build of Fx 2.0.0.4 RC1 was discovered last week. This will require a re-spin of RC2 which in turn is going to delay the final release of Fx 1.5.0.12 & 2.0.0.4 builds. Since they are having to do a re-spin on RC2, they will also take that time to correct four other bugs which have come up while testing RC1. The new RC2 build should be ready on Tuesday. Betas have been pushed back until May 15th now. Fx 3/Gecko 1.9 Alpha…
It appears WordPress has fixed the issue with the drop-downs I am using for the Archives and Tags selection. The archives should now default to ‘Select Month’ while the Tags one should default to ‘Select Category’. If they are still displaying something else for you do a force reload (CTRL+F5) and that should correct this.
A couple short (about a minute and half each) video clips from an interview with Michell Baker, Chief Lizard Wrangler (CEO) of Mozilla. She discusses various topics including a couple dealing with Microsoft, Internet Exploiter…err I mean Explorer as well as doing away with the “perceptions” of open-source. Sorry, I am not able to embed these clips into this post so you will have to visit the link below to watch them. Note: There are two clips the second clip will load/start automatically once the first one is completed.. News Source: ZDNet Australia
