!!To Our Readers…

Earlier this week I had instructed in my Fixed Broken Feed Subscriber entry:

To add our feed to Firefox’s Bookmark Toolbar simply click the RSS icon in the address bar.

Unfortunately this does not work because I am having my custom domain (ffextensiongurublog.info) forwarded to my WordPress blog. Because I am doing this, Firefox and other browsers are not able to automatically detect the feed. To subscribe to the feed simply click on the link in the sidebar below the Subscribe Now header. Depending on how your browser handles XML feeds one of two things will happen:

  • A new tab/window will open to FeedBurner where you can subscribe to the feed with a web based news reader. OR
  • In the case of Firefox 2.0, you will be given the option to add a Live Bookmark.

Also note, some readers may have seen this entry earlier today:

Over next few days we will be changing how the Firefox Extension Guru’s Blog is being hosted. If you have not done so already be sure you are using this address to access the blog: http://www.ffextensiongurublog.info and discontinue (if you haven’t done so already) using the http://ffextensionguru.wordpress.com/ address.

After some research and much debate, it has been decided NOT to change to a self-hosted WordPress platform. Upon doing said research it was discovered that WordPress.com blogs do not import nicely into the self-hosted WordPress platform. Further there may have also been problems being able to access the old entries using the custom domain.

Thanks

The Guru
