Update: ONE Lifetime Transfer with Windows Vista

Last month I had pointed out in my post: ONE Lifetime Transfer with Windows Vista, a change to Microsoft EULA in regards to transferring your copy of Windows Vista to another device you owned. With the new changes you could make one transfer for the lifetime of the product without having to purchase a new license. From CyberNet News >>Vista Entices PC Enthusiasts With License Changes: Windows Vista Team Blog had to say about it: You may uninstall the software and install it on another device for your use. You may not do so to share this license between devices….

UPDATE: Firefox 1.5.0.8 has been released as of 11/08/06. Please see entry: Firefox 1.5.0.8 RELEASED for updated information and download link. Okay, so I like totally didn’t notice that Firefox 1.5.0.8 did NOT come out this past Wednesday as I had posted in Firefox 1.5.0.8 & IE7 Force Feeding. It was not until a forum member in Go Firefox! responded to my post there asking about the status that I realized this had happened. I also realized I had not been over to Firefox Builds on mozillaZine in a couple days as well. After checking in at Firefox Builds, I…

Six Months Ago…

Here we are, the 1st of November. Yikes, where has the year gone!? I just realized six months ago today was my first post, (then at the old Blogger site) A Blog is Born! Never thought this Blog would take off, of course never really knew how well it was doing (or not doing) until early September when I moved to the New Blog Home. The comments, links and ping backs have been pouring in, especially in regards to the Firefox Tweaks. Even more impressive are the number of visits, especially during last week, when Firefox 2 was released. I…

Ever wonder what is in your cache? Type ‘about:cache‘ in the address bar. This will bring on stats on your cache, then at the bottom of that page is a link ‘List Cache Entries’ which may take a bit too load if your cache is large. This page will list all your cache entries. Also, you can directly access the cache entries page by typing in the address bar ‘about:cache?device=disk‘. Now, keep in mind Firefox uses two caches, disk and memory. To view your memory cache, type in the address bar ‘about:cache?device=memory‘. Also, there is the CacheViewer Extension which allows…

Why Windows Vista and Office 2007 are so Expensive

Almost two months ago Microsoft announced the prices for Windows Vista and Office 2007 (see Update: Windows Vista Prices). Perhaps the new packaging (scroll down for more) has something to do with the higher prices? Here are few other blog sites comments: From CyberNet News: “Somehow The Vista Team Blog came up with a very unique way of making it sound like the packaging alone is worth hundreds of dollars. Shall we see how many words you can use describe a package: “Designed to be user-friendly, the new packaging is a small, hard, plastic container that’s designed to protect the…

Colorful Tabs & Firefox 2

A long time ago I talked about the Colorful Tabs extension. One thing I noticed when I went to Bon Echo (Firefox 2) it was one of those extensions that did not work. Further, after forcing it to work with the Nightly Tester Tools, I discovered while it did work, it broke some functionality of Firefox. Once installed, you get colorful tabs, but no close buttons. I reviewed the extension author’s site but it has not been updated since June and have a feeling it won’t be anytime soon. However, on the extension page though, there was note from someone…
