You won’t be able to run Firefox on these, not that you can on the iPhone. For those hoping that may be things would change with the upcoming iPhone 6, they are not. From Mozilla Support: “Apple’s restrictions prevent us from bringing the current version of Firefox to iOS devices…”. What it comes down to is Apple telling Mozilla they must use the Apple web engine (WebKit) in order to have a Firefox app on iOS. Simply put Apple is telling Mozilla you can have a Firefox app on iOS, but really it is going to be mobile Safari dressed up to look like…

For those who are having issues with (or don’t like) the newly redesigned context menu in Firefox 32, there is a simple way you can get back your old (Firefox 31 and older) context menu without too much trouble: Download and install the Classic Theme Restorer add-on. From the Firefox Tools menu select Classic Theme Restore Select the General UI category on the left then scroll down to Replace page context menu icons with labels (back, forward, stop, reload, bookmark page) and check this option. Note: Below screen shot is for the current 1.2.3 version. The 1.2.5 Beta versions the options has been renamed to Replace icons with labels…
One of the new features with Firefox 32 is “Easier back, forward, reload, and bookmarking through the context menu” Mozilla has consolidated the context menu a bit by replacing the text for Back, Forward, Reload and Bookmark This Page options with the respective toolbar icons. Old Context Menu (Firefox 1.0 to 31) New Context Menu (Firefox 32+) Note: the items listed in your context menu may vary depending on what add-ons you are using. Now, I hadn’t really noticed this until recently as the only time I really use the context menu in Firefox is for the Copy Page Title and Location…

There is an issue with Thunderbird 31.1.0 (released September 2nd) that has recently come to my attention. Mailing lists which contain a space in their name won’t work and Thunderbird will throw an error when attempting to send. This appears to be related to Bug 1060901 which is currently being worked. Depending on the severity of this bug, the patch may be deployed with the upcoming Thunderbird 31.2.0 release (scheduled for October 14th) or Mozilla may choose to do an emergency release which would be Thunderbird 31.1.1 once this bug is fixed. In the mean time, the workaround is to…

It has been over five months since a plugin update broke the Gallery. During those past few months when I had some free time I would try to make the needed updates to restore the gallery to its full functionality. Unfortunately, I did not have much free time so little had been done. I had decided to set aside some time this weekend to update and repair (if needed) all the sites I maintain which included starting to work on fixing the gallery again. Saturday afternoon I logged into the gallery and noticed some plugins (including one of the two gallery…
Support for Thunderbird 24.x ESR has ended and there will no longer be any further Thunderbird ESR releases. Starting with Thunderbird 31.x, Mozilla is basing the mainstream Thunderbird releases off of the Firefox ESR standards, so Thunderbird ESR releases have been merged into the mainstream Thunderbird releases. This means the mainstream releases will be stable for about one year before a major update is released. Click here for more information.
